The official launch of the Galaxy Note 9, which can already be found in major stores in the United States. But while reviews on the new model of the Note line are mostly positive, the device has a feature that can be considered annoying: it is simply impossible to turn off the Bixby virtual assistant.

Unlike previous Samsung models that also have the application (such as Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9), Note 9 has no option to turn off the wizard in both the application settings and Android settings. As can be seen in the image below, a search for "Bixby key" returns only one screen with no results.

To make matters worse, as the location of the button to trigger the wizard is just below the volume control, it will be common for users to accidentally trigger Bixby every time they get the device out of their pocket.

Even though virtual assistants are a necessity on the market today, Bixby's effectiveness is not yet at the same level as other wizards like Alexa, Cortana, Siri or Google Assistant (which is also already installed in Note 9). It is possible that Samsung provides a feature to turn off the wizard in the next updates, but there is still no company confirmation on the subject.
