Samsung continues to be the world leader in smartphones, with a 13% drop in handset shipments worldwide. In the third quarter of this year, there were 72.2 nights of units made available on the shelves, a total higher than the previous period, but much lower than what was seen a year ago.

The researches are in contradiction between July and September of 2018, in the research counterpoint, consulting that, traditionally, are distributed to the sector. According to the company, in 2017, Samsung buys a 21% share of the sector, while a Chinese with interest, is then launching every quarter, which brings us to the current 19% domain.

The fall in availability of handsets by Samsung was also less than 5% between July and September. The main culprit here was China, with an organization normally promising to offer the prize in sales for the fifth consecutive quarter.

As they fall, the children grow incredibly fast. Huawei saw an impressive 33% growth in the global market and 53.2 million handsets on the shelves. Apple is in second position, having surpassed Apple, despite having published its best results of the category and also, those released by Honor.

In a third place without changes in the graphics is an apple, which remained with a slice of 12% of the market. In a moment not unlike the sales of iPhones and the negative outlook for next year, analysts saw as a victory the fact that a portion of the apple market have been unchanged. The idea, however, is that it is not visible for the end of the year.

Finally, completing the top 5 of the largest companies in the world, there is Oppo and Xiaomi, tied with 9% of the market each. Below the ranking are Vivo, with 8%, and Lenovo, with 3%, while the "Other" share represents 26% of the sector. Here, the inclusions all the smartphone brands nanicas, with particular emphasis on China and wide variety among the medium and small public. No matter how small the individuals, the sum is quite large and appetizing, especially for the largest companies.

While the situation on Chinese soil is complicated and the overall numbers show low, it is not as if Samsung was in bad shape. On the contrary, in the third quarter of 2018, the company can celebrate maintaining its position at the top of the podium for the second consecutive period, having lost the position to Xiaomi earlier this year.

In addition, the Korean brand also maintained its position as the biggest name in the smartphone market in two other major markets, Europe and Latin America, where it holds parcels of respectively 31% and 37%. In Africa, it also dominates, with 25% of the whole sector. These are numbers that, experts say, help the brand not shake its footing in the face of pressures from China, where most manufacturers are scamming what has already become one of the most competitive and challenging territories in the world.
